Field day macro for FLdigi2/18/2024 ![]() ![]() I’m not familiar with HRD or other programs, but I imagine they have similar capabilities. You’re right about using multiple versions of macro in Fldigi. So my Sign macro for contests and Field Day just reads “ TU 73”. I like to give points to field day/contest stations but. Frustratingly the information needed to simply get setup and get going is not found in one place. I came across a lot of PSK31 activity by chance (7.070, 14.070), but it took a while to figure out how to take part. It irks me when a station ends a QSO with “73 QRZ”, in effect saying “I’m done with you, who is next?” without giving me the chance to give my 73 call at the end of the communication per FCC regs. These are the PSK31 Fldigi macros I setup for Winter Field Day last year. I also like that your Sign macro ends in “73” rather than in “73 QRZ”. And the “pse copy” seems extraneous since the calling station is expecting that info anyway. Several stations may have answered the CQ call and they need to know which one you are replying to (and logging), preferably before the sign off message. I’d suggest that the “My Info” macro read: “ XXX XXX XXXX XXXX kn”. ![]() I’m still new at this game, and learning (aren’t we all?), so I appreciate constructive inputs like yours. OK, thats my 2 cents gentlemen.now back to lurking )Ĭhris, good list. We hope to work many PSK31 QSO's this year! I think its a matter of operator choice for the macros but we have found, especially on FD, that short and sweet works best. Fldigi operates (as does most similar software) in conjunction with a conventional HF SSB radio transceiver, and uses the PC sound card as the main means of input from the radio, and output to the radio. As for our macros, they are just the basic CQ, Answer CQ, our INFO, Tnx/73 and QRZ?. Fldigi is a computer program intended for Amateur Radio Digital Modes operation using a PC (Personal Computer). ![]() This partnership has worked perfectly for us for 6-7 years now and it was quite easy to set up. We also use N3FJP's amazing Field Day Log software coupled to the FLDigi suite of programs. We do operate SSB, CW and most of the digital modes. Our club (WA1USA) will be running 2F for Field Day. I have been following the thread and found the suggestions and information very useful. Gil, I think ur suggestion for FD macro's to be the most helpful suggested thus far by anyone. ![]()

Solving quadratic equation2/18/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() Quadratic Formula: x bb2 4ac 2a x b b 2 4 a c 2 a. For equations with real solutions, you can use the graphing tool to visualize the solutions. They are used in countless ways in the fields of engineering, architecture, finance, biological science, and, of course, mathematics. For example, equations such as 2x2 + 3x 1 0 2 x 2 + 3 x 1 0 and x2 4 0 x 2 4 0 are quadratic equations. The Quadratic Formula Calculator finds solutions to quadratic equations with real coefficients. An equation containing a second-degree polynomial is called a quadratic equation. The procedure to use the quadratic equation solver is as follows: Step 1: Enter the coefficients of the quadratic equation a, b and c in the input fields. The quadratic equation solver uses the quadratic formula to find the roots of the given quadratic equation. If students can remember some simple generalizations about roots, they can decide where to go next. Step 1: Enter the equation you want to solve using the quadratic formula. Here we have to solve an equation in the form of ax 2 + bx + c 0. We can sometimes transform equations into equations that are quadratic in form by making an appropriate \(u\)-substitution. If a quadratic equation can be solved by factoring or by extracting square roots you should use that method. However, it is sometimes not the most efficient method. Loh believes students can learn this method more intuitively, partly because there’s not a special, separate formula required. The quadratic formula can solve any quadratic equation. It’s quicker than the classic foiling method used in the quadratic formula-and there’s no guessing required. When solving for u, you’ll see that positive and negative 2 each work, and when you substitute those integers back into the equations 4–u and 4+u, you get two solutions, 2 and 6, which solve the original polynomial equation. When you multiply, the middle terms cancel out and you come up with the equation 16–u2 = 12. So the numbers can be represented as 4–u and 4+u. Suppose ax + bx + c 0 is the quadratic equation, then the formula to find the roots of this equation will be: x -b (b2-4ac)/2a. Since quadratics have a degree equal to two, therefore there will be two solutions for the equation. If the two numbers we’re looking for, added together, equal 8, then they must be equidistant from their average. Quadratic equations are the polynomial equations of degree 2 in one variable of type f (x) ax 2 + bx + c 0 where a, b, c, R and a 0. The formula for a quadratic equation is used to find the roots of the equation. Now its your turn to solve a few equations on your own. It is often the fastest way to solve a quadratic equation, so usually should be. The complete solution of the equation would go as follows: x 2 3 x 10 0 ( x + 2) ( x 5) 0 Factor. Instead of starting by factoring the product, 12, Loh starts with the sum, 8. Factoring is the first of the three methods of solving quadratic equations. Those two numbers are the solution to the quadratic, but it takes students a lot of time to solve for them, as they’re often using a guess-and-check approach. “Normally, when we do a factoring problem, we are trying to find two numbers that multiply to 12 and add to 8,” Dr. ![]()

Not even just the basic features, there are many other additional features that you can use in one calendar application. You must still often forget your own schedule that you have made on the calendar, right. Now, with increasingly sophisticated technology, now there are many calendar applications that you can use as organizers, managers, and even reminders of your daily schedule, events, or activities. Currently, the use of such calendars is still less effective being used as a reminder of daily, weekly, monthly, and even yearly schedules or activities. Well, usually the calendar you use must be a calendar made of paper aliases that you often display in your room or living room. Ham radio vs hoa covenants2/17/2024 ![]() ![]() Early court rulings primarily dealt with deciding if a satellite dish fell under the definition of an item already prohibited by the regulation or covenant, typically whether a dish could be considered either a "structure" or an "antenna." See Breeling v Churchill, 228 Neb 596, 598, 423 NW2d 469, 471 (1988) (restriction prohibiting all "outside radio, television, Ham broadcasting, or other electronic antenna or aerial" included a satellite dish) Killearn Acres Homeowners Association, Inc. ![]() As might be expected, some homeowners' associations, condominium associations, and local governments sought to impede the installation of satellite dishes in the interest of protecting community aesthetics. The early years of satellite television typically involved large dishes that were freestanding on a homeowner's property. The purpose of this article is to provide a brief look at the law prior to the Act, and then to analyze the impact and possible future effects of the 1996 FCC rule. A restriction is said to impair installation, maintenance or use of an antenna if it delays or prevents these actions, unreasonably increases the cost of these actions, or precludes reception of an acceptable quality signal. The restriction is prohibited only to the extent that it impairs a person's use of a particular type of receiver. Even if the regulation serves one of these two purposes, the restriction may be only as burdensome as is necessary to achieve the allowed purpose. Under these new rules, private restrictions against satellite receivers that are less than one meter in diameter are presumptively unreasonable and prohibited, unless the restriction has either a clearly defined and valid safety objective or is necessary to preserve a recognized historic district. The FCC responded by enacting 47 CFR § 1.4000. In anticipation of these conflicts, and to facilitate competition between cable television providers and satellite television providers, Congress included a provision in the 1996 Telecommunications Act (Act) that directed the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to promulgate rules that would regulate the use of direct-to-home satellite dishes. With the increasing popularity of home satellite television, conflicts are bound to arise between prospective dish users, regulations, and restrictive covenants that prohibit satellite dishes. there is hereby created a commission to be known as the "Federal Communications Commission." 47 USC § 151. Beck, ATG Senior Law Clerkįor the purpose of regulating interstate and foreign commerce in communication by wire and radio so as to make available, so far as possible, to all the people of the United States a rapid, efficient, nationwide, and worldwide wire and radio communication service with adequate facilities at reasonable charges.
